We are distilling fresh hydrosols, also known as floral waters, and essential oils from our gardens and wild harvests. We are absolutely in love with these wonderful creations. Our artisan hydrosols are all true steam-distilled from plant materials. Our still is made of food grade stainless steel and our condenser is made of custom hand blown glass. This provides the purest essential oils and hydrosols because none of the metal is transferred in the distilling process as with copper stills. As a chemist, Orion takes particular delight ensuring the highest quality oils and hydrolates are created.

LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL- Lavendula angustifolia
Our lavender essential oil is distilled from true Lavendula angustifolia straight off of the farm, distilled right after harvest. It is a sweet, beautifully floral aromatic lavender essential oil that really makes a lovely presence wherever it is used. This aroma will transport you to the sage brush country. It is a powerful antimicrobial and energetic cleanser. It is an excellent deodorizer and a favorite to have on hand. It is STRONG, I recommend diluting it for use in a carrier oil. It is useful in soaps, lotions, and in aromatherapy.

Unlike water with essential oil added, hydrosols are made by distilling the whole plant and contain not only a small percentage of essential oils, but many of the water soluble components of the herbs, such as the natural alcohols, weak acids and tannins. They are more true to the essence of the plant and a more complete representation of it. They contain the same medicinal properties as the essential oils, but not as concentrated, so it can be used in more applications. They work beautifully as a facial toner/cleanser, perfume, deodorant or room freshener. Purify your body, enhance your mood or include them into lotions or your homemade soap. Each of our 4 oz hydrosols is packaged in a brushed aluminum spray bottle and we also sell them in larger bulk quantities.
Our hydrosols are not diluted. For every pound of herb we produce only a pound of hydrosol.

CEDAR HYDROSOL- Thuja plicata
This is our favorite hydrosol. Woodsy, Western Red Cedar is both purifying, uplifting, antimicrobial and antifungal by nature. Wonderfully refreshing and uplifting our Cedar Hydrosol can be used as a deodorant, energy cleanser, energetic protection. It is wonderful in bath water, saunas or as a cleaning solution. We just love having it around and spray it for its therapeutic values, it smells soooo good!

Lavendin is very similar in scent and use to true lavender. However, it contains more camphoric compounds and used more for respiratory and circulatory disorders. Like lavender it is a tonic for the nervous system and its aromatics are a favorite among many. It is excellent for the bath, cleaning and cosmetics.

A cool refreshing burst of mint. This hydrosol contains uplifting, energizing and cooling properties. A favorite among menopausal women. It also is helpful to relieve itching, redness and inflammation. It can be taken in small doses internally for indigestion and is a wonderful addition to all mint loving foods. ST. JOHN'S WORT HYDROSOL- Hypericum perforatum
We love the subtle herbaceousness of this hydrosol. This hydrosol is distilled from hand harvested wild St. John's Wort. It is used in aromatherapy as a mood lifter and supports healthy mental functioning. It also eases trauma to the skin, muscle aches and is a particular herb for back aches.

YARROW HYDROSOL- Achillea millefolium
Our Yarrow Hydrosol is very fresh. We collected in from the ocean shores of California on one of our yearly trips. This hydrosol works beautifully for skin irritations such as rashes, bites, stings, acne and reactions. This is lovely all purpose skin care creation. Anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. It is also known to be helpful with cellulite and repairing damaged skin.
